Bushwick Open Studios
Dutch East Design teamed up with The Smith Factory and Rosenblum Studios to create an art installation for the 2015 Bushwick Open Studios in Brooklyn, NY. The project was an excersize in the development of rapidly deployed space-making using inflatables, laser cut framing materials, OSB and 2x3s. One of the experiment’s goals was to reduce all measurements and cuts in the project by creating decorative, laser-cut elements which acted as guides. Additionally, their was to be a single modular unit which, when radially arrayed, would be self supporting. The installation lasted for 3 days and was a central destination for the event.
