Nomikai
Nomikai was conceived by Connor Drexler after a long day of hiking through the desert with friends, born out of the need for juicy, unpretentious, and smashable rosé in 187ml single-serve can. In Japanese culture a “nomikai” is a drinking party particular to places of employment, and is interpreted in the branding of Nomikai Fizzy Rosé as “A drink in the company of friends”.
99.99% recyclable aluminum cans were chosen, and the six-pack plastic can carriers are made from 100% post-consumer waste. For easy carrying, empty cans can be crushed flat and popped back into the blue top until you get to the recycling bin.
Working within the constraints of packaging and printing techniques, Dutch East Design developed a unique visual identity that speaks to the product’s fun and friendly vibe. Within this framework a suite of labels was launched for rosé, gin and tonic, and red wine.
