Area 15
Area15 is a first of its kind. It creates a critical mass of edgy, exciting and niche counter-culture interests. It’s a destination for the grown-up professional video gaming, comic-con and other “geek chic” conventions, and an inherent partner to existing Las Vegas institutions.
Dutch East Design was brought on to create a strong visual identity, in collaboration with Beneville Studios, to be used for leasing collateral, and generally set the tone for the venture from a graphic design point of view.
Often engaged to develop pitch material in collaboration with developers or operators, Dutch East Design captured the aspirations and goals of the venture by designing a document in the style of a comic book. Far from a purely aesthetic exercise, the designers needed to organize client-provided data and present it in a measured and compelling way, creating diagrams, maps, and charts, as well as crafting succinct but evocative copy. With pitch books complete, Dutch East designed the project’s splash page, including custom-made animations.
