Library Of Distilled Spirits
The Library of Distilled Spirits, located in the Hyatt Union Square on the corner of 4thAve and 13thstreet, reflects both the past and future of the ever-changing East Village. The Library is partnered with Bowery Road Kitchen within the hotel’s F+B program. The Library, which has the largest collection of spirits in New York City, takes advantage of the building’s scale, using the 40’ ceiling height to display its liquor collection in glowing, lockable library shelves. A library ladder for use by the staff emphasizes the scale of the vast collection and reinforces the venue’s strong cocktail program.
A large communal library table sits beneath a large suspended chandelier. The comfortable eclectic mix of furniture including tufted banquettes, found vintage captain’s chairs and loose tables allow guests to relax during the day or enjoy cocktails in a livelier environment at night. Custom brass light fixtures line the walls and zinc bar top elevates the experience and warms the space. Just like the East village itself, The Library of Distilled Spirits tows the line between casual or sophisticated.
