Bowery Road Kitchen
Bowery Road, located in the Hyatt Union Square on the corner of 4thAve and 13thstreet, reflects both the past and future of the ever-changing East Village. The interior design of the restaurant offers the kind of relaxed and comfortable environment for which the East Village is historically known. Utilizing the strongest elements of the base building, the design strategically inserts custom mill work, custom lighting, furniture and finishes to soften the architecture and warm the spaces. Bowery Road, heavily influenced by the historic Bowery district in which it sits, is designed to be simple and relaxed.
Light-oak, blackened steel and leather banquettes mix with caramel, charcoal and white oak wood-panels which line the walls. A family of custom steel-ringed, blown glass pendants, chandeliers and wall sconces create an intimate light level over wood tables and the zinc bar. A 30β tall chandelier, hangs in the center of the stairwell between the upper floor and lower-level PDR. Bowery Road and itβs sister establishment, The Library of Distilled Spirits are designed to have a sense of eased sophistication with an eclectic flair.
